Overview
These units of competency allow security guards to use batons and handcuffs as part of their security duties. You will learn to safely and lawfully use baton and handcuffs in a conflict or arrest situation.
Theory
Covers use of force options, powers of arrest, tactical consideration and threat analysis.
Practical
This component teaches you to safely and lawfully defend an attack using a baton. You will also learn to safely and lawfully apply handcuffs to a person required after an arrest. (Speed Cuffing)
Course Entry Requirements :
- Minimum Certificate II in Security Operations
- Candidates are expected to be in good health and reasonably fit
- Student are prequired to produce a Photo ID on commencement of the course.
Course Outline :
- Start - 8.30am
- Finish - 4.30pm
