The Aged Care/Disability sector is a recognised skills shortage area, which means there is an abundance of work for well-trained and qualified personal carers, Assistants in Nursing and Disability Support Workers. Many local providers employ our successful students, and we are proud to regularly achieve high employment outcomes.
This qualification ensures that participants have the most recent and current knowledge and skills for the Aged Care/Disability Sector. It is designed for people wishing to enter the Residential/Home & Community Sector, in both Ageing and Disability, or existing workers looking to upskill.
The course covers both theory-based classroom training and clinical placement. You will leave this course with all the current skills and knowledge required to excel within the industry.
This course is a solid stepping stone on a career pathway in the Health Care Sector, with many of our students continuing their education to become Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses, or progressing in the Disability sector.
The course is conducted over a minimum of 34 days face-to-face delivery and assessment, as well as a minimum of 120 hours of Clinical Placement arranged for you by Intercept Training.
The course commences with face-to-face foundation training, giving students the initial skills and knowledge necessary to attend their allocated Care Home for the practical placement requirements.
